In 2014, the Event Marketing Institute conducted extensive research that found that consumers were 96% more inclined to purchase having experienced a product.

The old adage of ‘try before you buy’ has never been more relevant for consumers today when faced with more and more choice on shelves.

By giving them the opportunity to try something before purchase you are automatically equipping them with more information to inform their purchases.

Distributing a money-off voucher with your product samples is also an excellent way of encouraging future purchase (particularly if sampling slightly away from the point of purchase) and tracking the success of your sampling campaign.

Product sampling doesn’t always have to be just that, more and more brands are extending the engagement on sampling campaigns by introducing additional elements to the campaigns, including photo capture mechanics, brand theatre and ambient media elements.
