The Challenge
A few years back Walkers made the decision to discontinue their Worcestershire sauce crisps, a move that disappointed fans of the beloved flavour. The challenge was not only to reintroduce the product but to do so in a way that reignited excitement and captured the passion of its most loyal supporters in a big wow factor way.
The Execution
The Worcestershire sauce variety was brought back with an exclusive, limited-time launch at a single location Charlie’s Convenience Store in the condiment’s hometown of Worcester. To create a big wow factor and spread the campaign far and wide, we created a larger-than-life 6 metre inflatable version of the Worcestershire sauce crisp packet and took over a barge with the iconic purple and Worcestershire sauce branding. We then floated the inflatable along the River Severn, where fans and passersby were amazed by the striking and unexpected moment!
The Outcome
The larger-than-life inflatable installation of Walkers’ Worcestershire sauce crisps immediately captured attention, sparking excitement both locally and online through extensive digital PR coverage. The town turned purple as our giant six-metre crisp pack floated down the River Severn, passing Worcester’s stunning cathedral and iconic buildings. With ad vans, branded bikes and bold displays across the city, the celebration was impossible to miss!
