The Challenge
Oasis aimed to reclaim the nation’s lunch breaks. In the UK, the average lunch break lasts a mere 16 minutes, barely enough time to truly unwind. Oasis recognised that lunch should be a moment to escape from “adulting” responsibilities, but ongoing obligations often creep in, making it hard for people to take a real break. We launched a campaign to encourage people to reclaim their lunch hour, starting a movement to save the lunch break and offering a refreshing escape during the day.
The Execution
The “Save Your Lunch Break” activation took place in London and Manchester, offering shoppers an unexpected and interactive experience during their lunch hour. A large, eye-catching interactive billboard was installed, featuring a giant lever that passersby could pull. The act of pulling the lever transformed a dull moment into a refreshing one. When the lever was pulled, a voucher for a free Greggs meal deal – including an Oasis drink was dispensed through a hatch, providing participants with a free lunch. This activation brought fun, excitement and a tangible reward to the middle of people’s day.
The Outcome
The campaign successfully engaged busy shoppers and workers, as it encouraged them to pause and enjoy a break during their day. It not only raised awareness of the importance of taking a proper lunch break but also reinforced Oasis’s mission to provide a refreshing escape from the grind of daily life. By combining a unique interactive experience with a tangible reward, this campaign made a memorable impact and left participants feeling recharged and appreciated!
