Chanel No. 5: Celebrating 100 Years of Celebrity.

The Challenge

Chanel No5 was first created in 1921 by Ernest Beaux in Grasse – the home of French perfumery. 100 years on, Chanel was to celebrate the centenary of this World Famous and iconic perfume. The challenge: orchestrate a stunning series of drones shows in key markets; bringing together local marketing plans and Global branding objectives to create a stand out and suitably iconic celebration to mark the occasion.

The Execution

Nothing short of exceptional, a stunning 3 minute choreographed drone show, designed to showcase the key visual icons of the famous Chanel No. 5 was developed.

Visually elegant and beautiful, several shows per evening were performed to an audience of VIPs and influencers who enjoyed the hospitality while hundreds of passers-by witnessed the spectacle in the sky. Accompanied by an emotive soundtrack and filmed to create content, the results were stunning; perfectly encapsulating the milestone for a truly iconic brand.

Planning a drone show across multiple markets required the careful selection and co-ordination of central Global teams as well as an array of specialised, local suppliers from location scouts, drone operators, local fixers – all managed from a central project team at Ambient.

The Outcome

A beautiful centrepiece for the brand’s 100th Anniversary celebrations, the campaign delivered a consistent look and feel across 4 cities around the World with overwhelming awe and excitement being shared by celebrities and VIPs throughout.
